My sister, Alyssa, recently commissioned me to do a nursery painting as a surprise for her friend who was pregnant with a baby boy. As the new parents-to-be were avid sports fans, especially baseball, my sister requested a vintage, baseball themed painting.
I was so excited for this opportunity. In the past several years, I have gotten more requests for baby girl paintings. When the twins came along, my eyes were opened to all the new and creative decorating ideas out there for little boys rooms. And since then, it seems that more of my friends and relatives have been having boys, so I was thrilled to try my brush out with a new color palette besides pinks and greens.
I wanted to create something that would encourage this little boy to chase the world of possibilities out there.
And, I wanted to make sure he felt like an All Star from day one. So of course, his name and birth date would need be proudly displayed. Almost as if he autographed the baseball himself!
Well, little Jackson Ryan came early, weighing in at 3 pounds and 3 ounces. He has already proven to be an all-star, though, as he has grown stronger and healthier each and every day! Though he spent a few weeks in the NICU, he was a tough little guy and he is already home now enjoying his time with his dedicated and loving parents.
Here are a few more photos of the painting.
Don’t mind the photo-bombing pup! I almost didn’t notice her while I was watermarking this photo. Many of my favorite bloggers have photo-bombers of their own – husbands and children…. well for me, it’s my two rambunctious schnauzers, aka my “children”. They are always rooting around and following me around like a pair of curious cats. I will have to do some posts to show you more of them!
Well, that’s it for today. Have a Happy Monday!
I hope little Jackson Ryan continues to grow strong and chase his dreams. I know his parents will take him to some fun baseball games in the future. His mom texted me this sweet photo yesterday! So happy to see how big he is getting!
